A FIGHTING DESIRE ©
by Robbie Kennedy Bennett
Training his body for months,
He is aiming to reach his peak.
Filled with a fighting desire,
For the world champion prize he does seek.
His muscles have tightened and formed,
The mind is sharp and alert,
He channels his thoughts on one goal,
That opponent has got to be hurt.
Someone will finally be battered,
A body will carry the bruise.
There can only be one true champion,
Dare not to think he may lose.
The arena waits for the fighters,
But a mother and often a wife,
Pray Lord, if my man is not a winner,
I will be quite satisfied with his life.
