We were like a couple of kids when we got the beach at Sandyhills to find that traces of the in-coming tide had frozen. We took it in turns to have our photo taken standing on ice in the Solway Firth.
The Solway Firth is the firth of water that divides England and Scotland at the most southerly point into the Irish Sea. The A75 from Gretna Green to Stranraer has branches of roads that link to the Solway coast with the most amazing scenery and wildlife. Stranraer on Loch Ryan is where the ferries sail back and forth to Belfast.
